Giering Bottling co., established 60 years ago with a hand power machine and one horse and wagon to make deliveries, is celebrating its 60th anniversary by adding a filling unit which will increase its capacity 900 cases a day. This means an additional 21,600 bottles daily. The company will bottle 3,500,000 bottles of soft drinks this year. And with the new equipment and advancing business, expects to double that next year. Louis Giering established the business on Everett Ave. Before the days of modern equipment, when bottles were washed with buckshot and water swished through them in a tub. Today, J.F. Giering, son of the founder, heads the business that has $65,000 invested in equipment. A son, A.L. Giering, is vise president and treasurer.
