Those who knew Dr. Giering as an attending physician at the critical hour of surgery or as a fellow workman in the alleviation of suffering or as a Christian man in every day life, concur in their praise of his professional skills, his deep concern for his fellowmen and his unusually conscientious devotion to his work. "His death makes us aware of the great weight of responsibility that our physicians carry in their ministry to the suffering and diseased, so great is it for some that the mind and heart are not adequate for the strain.
