JOHN L. GIERING
Senior Vice President and CFO, NCR 
John L. Giering is senior vice president and chief financial officer of AT&T Global Information Solutions (formerly NCR Corporation) in Dayton, Ohio. Previously, he had served at NCR as vice president, finance and administration, as well as president and general manager, NCR France; controller; director, finance and administration, Europe Group; and assistant controller. 

Mr. Giering received a B.A. in chemistry from Duke University and a Masters of Accounting from The Ohio State University. The Omicron Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi of The Ohio State University awarded him the Outstanding Alumnus of 1992, and he has also received the United Way of Dayton Outstanding Company Chairman Award. 

Active in civic affairs, Mr. Giering has served as chairman of the NCR United Way Campaign, chair of the board of trustees of Greater Dayton Public Television, and secretary and member of the board of trustees of the Dayton Society of Natural History. He is chairman of the board of trustees of the NCR Employees Benefit Association and NCR Country Club, and is chair of the AT&T Community Involvement Council. He also advises the University of South Carolina as a member of its International Business Advisory Board and Indiana University as a member of its School of Business Dean¹s Advisory Council. Mr. Giering is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Executives Institute, and the Financial Council of Manufacturer's Alliance for Productivity and Innovation. 

Mr. Giering and his wife Patricia have two children, Amy and Jeff.
