6/2/1971 Mrs. Albert Meredith; Rites will be Tuesday Mrs. Viola Meredith, 52 of 285 Fairview Ave., Canfield, died of pneumonia at 12:20 a.m. Today in St. Elizabeth Hospital following a five day illness. Mrs. Meredith was born 11/19/1918, in Youngstown a daughter of Antonio and Anna Kostkiewicz Ziemianski. She was a bookkeeper at Terrace Gardens the past 12 years and a member of St. Michael Church, Canfield. Besides her husband, Albert to whom she was married June 29, 1939 she leaves a son, Glenn of Canfield; two brothers, John of Boardman and George of Youngstown; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Miechurski of Buffalo, Miss Mary C. Ziemianski of Boardman and Mrs. Isabelle Staffrey of Canfield, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church, friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. And 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday t the Vaschak Funeral home. Howard J. Meredith Howard J. Meredith, 53, of 1820 Brandon Ave., died of a heart ailment at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday at the Sleigh Bell Nursing Home. Mr. Meredith was born Nov. 9, 1910 in Youngstown, a son of Nobel G. And Marie McKetrick Meredith and had been employed by Terrace Gardens landscapers. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church. Besides his mother of Youngstown, Mr. Meredith leaves a brother, Albert of Youngstown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Davis Velker Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Noble Meredith Canfield Mrs. Marie Meredith, 82, of 285 Fairview Ave., died of arteriosclerosis at 5 a.m. Today at the Peaceful Acres Nursing Home following a two week illness. Mrs. Meredith was born July 23, 1888, in Marietta, a daughter of John and Phoebe McKitrick, and came here 60 years ago from Marietta. Her husband, Noble, died in 1957. She leaves a son, Albert, of Canfield; a brother, Isaac, of Cortland; a sister, Mrs. Garnet Nicholayson of Youngstown; a grandchild and three great grandchildren. A son, Howard, died in 1963. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Vaschak Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Leroy Meredith's wed 50 years 7/1987 Mr. And Mrs. Leroy O. Meredith 1122 Sharlend drive, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a buffet dinner held Sunday, June 7 at Mr. B's Tippecanoe House. Among those in attendance were their three children, Leroy Paul of Hopatcong, N.J.; Dennis of Weatherford, TX; and Carole Zimmerman, Boardman, Also, Mr. And Mrs. John Fields, Tustin, Calif., Mr. And Mrs. Dale Dicarlo and family, Massillon; Mrs. Gerald Miller and Christopher Miller, Lansing, Mich.; and Mr. And Mrs. Gregory Kocan of Allison Park, PA. The honored couple have five grandchildren, Army 1st Lt. Ben Meredith, stationed near Frankfurt, West Germany; Cynthia and Eric Meredith, also of Weatherford; and Meredith and Johnny Zimmerman of Boardman. Mr. Meredith and the former Anne Pagac were married June 5, 1937 in the West Side Immanuel Lutheran Church by the late Rev. John Zornan. Mr. Meredith, a Navy veteran of W.W.II, retired in 1977 after 31 years with the Youngstown Fire Department. She is retired from Gray Drug in the Mahoning Plaza. Both are active members of Concordia Lutheran Church, where they received a special blessing for their anniversary from Pastor Scott Kolesa, Mrs. Meredith was the church organist for several years. Both also are affiliated with the retired firemens's Association and the West side Senior Citizens.
